Rookin House Adventure Centre (approx. 8miles from Keswick) - Pony Trekking and lots of other outdoor activities inc. Quad Bike Safaris, Archery, JCB Driving. Ideal Corporate Activities.
Cumberland Pencil Museum - the history of pencil-making. This is a must for the whole family.
Derwentwater Marina, Portinscale - The Marina is an ideal location for your water or mountain based activities, Sailing, Windsurfing, canoeing etc.,  You can also moor your boat here.
Nichol End Marine, Portinscale - Windsurfing, sailing with Chandlery Shop and Cafe
BIRDWATCHER'S PARADISE - Keswick and area is renowned for it's abundance and variety of Birds.  From the smallest Garden visitors > Woodland Birds > Birds of Prey inc. our regular Osprey visitors > Water Birds - the list is endless - bring your binoculars and camera - walk and enjoy!!
Lakes Aquarium (nr. Windemere)- A Waterworld experience from stream > lake > sea.
Honister Slate Mine - Take a guided tour into the awesome caverns deep within this "Working Slate mine".  Available several times a day.  Kids will love this one! Many extra attractions being added.
Keswick Launch - Provides Boat trips (every 1/2hr) clockwise/anti-clockwise around Derwentwater.
You can use it to get to the start of a walk and as a "Water Taxi" at the end of your walk > Keswick.

Keswick Leisure Pool - a modern family facility with wave machine and slide. Ideal for children and even shallow enough round the sloping beach-like edge for babies. Sited above the Old park.

Keswick Mountain Festival - A multitude of outdoor activities will take place usually 2nd week May  
Keswick Museum and Art Gallery - Local Victorian Museum showing Keswick's' past history. FREE Entry
2 Public Parks - The "Old" Fitz park has a Children's' Play area with swings etc., Cricket ground and Hard Tennis courts. Both Parks are connected by a tunnel under the road and have the river Greta running along their edge.  The "New" Fitzpark has lovely Gardens, seats, Bowling Greens, Grass Tennis Courts.  Ideal for your tranquil walks on balmy summer's evenings. 3 mins from house. Dogs must be on lead in the New Park but are allowed to run free in the Old Park-Poopascoop Bin facilities available.
Local Market - a weekly market is held on Saturdays in the Town Centre around the Moot Hall
MOOT HALL - houses the Tourist Information Centre, this building dates back to 1813 on an earlier 16th Century site and has had many and varied uses over the centuries.
Puzzling Place - An interactive selection of holograms, puzzles and other intriguing illusions to amuse and amaze you!
RHEGED - Penrith - A Shopping and Film Experience.  It boasts the only IMAX Screen in the area.
The screen is the size of 24 double-decker buses with Dolby Surround sound - what an experience!!

Castlerigg Stone Circle - one mile east of Keswick. A Neolithic Stone Circle with a 360 deg. panoramic view of all the surrounding mountains. Approx. 4000yrs old.
Within walking distance of the Guest House.

Theatre by the Lake - a superb selection of quality Plays are put on every season.  People travel from far and wide to attend.  Dame Judi Dench is one of its Patrons.
Lakeland Wildlife Park (8 miles) - A day out for the whole family.  Lots of exhibitions are under cover + Kiddies corner, Snake and Birds of Prey Demonstrations.
Ullswater Steamers - 19th century steamers, now converted to oil, cruising on Ullswater.
Whinlatter Forest Park - Lovely woodland walks, MTB Tracks + kiddies play area, Gift shop and CafeOsprey View Point with big plasma screens showing moving images from the Ospreys nest close-up. Current & time-lapsed displays. (approx. 5 miles from house).
Osprey View Point in "Mirehouse Woods" - approx 6 miles out of Keswick on Carlisle Road.  Here they have high-powered telescopes trained onto the Ospreys Nest. The place is manned by knowledgeable enthusiasts.   Osprey Watch Pics   The Ospreys usually return in the Spring after wintering in Africa.

George Fisher - One of Keswick's bigger Climbing and Walking equipment shops,
Muncaster Castle (Nr.Ravenglass)- Historic Haunted Castle, Explore the Castle with your own audio cassette tape which explains everything as you go.  Owl Centre with Flying Displays, Lovely Gardens.

The Teapottery - Teatime will never be the same again!!  England's largest collection of eccentric teapots - made on site, while you watch!
Stagecoach Bus - the local bus in and out of Keswick to Penrith, Carlisle, Kendal etc.,
Keswick Beer Festival : is a popular event held each year in June at Keswick's Rugby Club - just a stone's throw from Brunlea Guest House - try out excellent real ales from Cumbria and afar.
They are sponsoring "Charles Gough's Old Faithful" from the Tirril Brewery or Tirril nr Penrith.

Caldbeck Village :  A peaceful location behind Skiddaw in the Northern Fells where you can get to easily to escape the crowds - only 25 minutes drive away.
